Waitress Falls for Married Man Hidden Truth Unfolds
Lucy is a waitress who falls for Ben, a charming businessman who slowly wins her trust and love. Their relationship grows deeply until she discovers he is secretly married, leaving her heartbroken and searching for closure and healing.
Every day, we faced disrespect because of our jobs at a bar. Our role was to cater to customers, attending to their needs throughout their time there.
Some patrons, particularly men, took the opportunity to make unwanted sexual advances. We were trained to remain courteous and attentive, or risk losing our jobs. So, we maintained our politeness, even in the face of those who invaded our personal space and attempted to touch us inappropriately.
Despite that, I genuinely enjoyed my job as a waitress. I loved the bar and the little dramas that unfolded there. The music was always playing, and there was always something to celebrate. Occasionally, patrons would drink too much and cause a ruckus. But every so often, someone truly good would come along, like Ben.
He entered my life at a time when I was yearning for stability. When he asked for my number at the bar, I hesitated, but he persisted. I eventually mumbled it out while he saved it on his phone, and then I left.
I expected him to call that night, but he didn’t. Two days passed without a word, and I wondered, “Why would he ask for my number if he wasn’t going to call?” That’s when I realized how much I wanted him in my life.
Three days later, he returned to the bar. Approaching the counter, he said, “I think I missed a number that day. I couldn’t call because it kept saying wrong number.”
I felt a wave of relief, knowing he had made an effort. I wrote my number on a piece of paper and handed it to him. That night, he called, and we talked for hours. He shared how he built his business from scratch and encouraged me to embrace change. He opened up about losing his girlfriend when he had nothing, which made me feel comfortable enough to share my own thoughts.
Over the next few days, Ben and I talked frequently. Just as I was starting to develop deeper feelings for him, he proposed, and I said yes.
I was captivated by his approach. He never rushed things or pressured me. One night, he picked me up after work and asked, “Can I take you home? I mean my home?” Before I could respond, he reassured me, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”
I trusted him because, for the past five months of our relationship, everything had been wonderful. His home was beautiful, a clear sign of his success. We spent the night talking in a room he showed me. Just as I began to imagine how our first night together would be, he said goodnight and left the room.
He slept in a different room, leaving me puzzled about why he would bring his girlfriend home and choose to sleep elsewhere. His explanation was simply, “Let’s take it slowly.”
Our relationship progressed gradually. He introduced me to friends, colleagues, and people he referred to as family.
He treated me well and did everything right, but I still felt uncertain about us. He called me his girlfriend, yet his actions didn’t always reflect that. One night, on our way to his house, he stopped, pulled me close, and kissed me. We hurried home, and that night, we finally took our relationship to the next level. It was special and fulfilling. After six months of seeing each other daily, we finally connected intimately.
Life felt normal, and I thought I had found someone special. I prayed every day for our relationship to flourish.
But then things began to change. I didn’t see him as often. He mentioned that business was tough and that meetings consumed his time. He was frequently traveling, making it hard to spend time together. There were times I wouldn’t see him for an entire month, which was difficult for me to accept.
One day, I begged him to meet, wanting to ask him questions and understand if he had moved on. He agreed, but at the last minute, he called to cancel.
Desperate for answers, I decided to go to his house after work that night. I saw his car parked outside, confirming he was home. I knocked on the door and heard voices inside. When I knocked again, a stern female voice asked who was there.
It wasn’t Ben’s voice. I knocked harder, and the voice demanded to know who I was. I introduced myself, and finally, the door swung open.
“Are you looking for someone?”
“Yes…”
“Who?”
“Ben.”
“My husband?”
I glanced at her hand and saw a ring. I replied, “The Ben I’m looking for isn’t married and lives here.”
She went inside and returned a few minutes later with Ben. He looked shocked to see me, and I was on the verge of tears. I told him, “You should have told me the truth,” and started to walk away. I heard the woman calling after me, but I didn’t turn back. I just left.
That night, I cried myself to sleep, my mind filled with self-judgment: “You can’t keep a man who falls from nowhere. They usually belong to someone else,” I kept telling myself.
I lacked the strength to go to work the next day or even the day after. I wanted to quit everything and erase the memories, but deep down, I still wanted to hear from Ben. I felt he owed me an apology or an explanation. I wanted him to say sorry, but that never happened.
I don’t know how they handled the situation that night, but I assume they worked things out. It was just one of the challenges they faced as a couple. Meanwhile, I’m left grappling with my own struggle for closure. It’s tough, but I believe this too shall pass. Someday.
