My Fiancé's Secret Life Became a Comedy

When I go over my experience, I basically get the feeling of a heavy burden in my heart and a storm in my mind. Henry has received all my love for five years. I used to say he was my man and I was proud of it. Now, he has made me feel bad. We live in different parts of the world but our efforts to keep the love going have not been in vain. Actually, we have even set the date for our wedding next June.

But now, all is different. I am always thinking of ways to inflict on him the pain he has given me. You got it, I found out that he has another girl expecting his baby. He tried to reject the claim but I have a dialogue going with her.

The whole thing began two months back when I went to visit him. During the time, he took my mobile to sort some personal matters on his phone. A call came during the day and he asked me to pick it up so I did. The moment I said 'hello', I heard a female voice saying, "Babe..."

I thought she must have called the wrong number so I asked, "Who do you want to talk to?" She answered confidently, "I want to talk to Henry." I was shocked that another woman was calling my man babe, but I didn't create a scene. I just quietly passed the phone to him. She asked who I was and instead of telling her the truth, he said they would talk later.

After the call, I wanted to know who the woman was. He just shrugged and said, "She is my business partner." I didn't want to be too hard on him, so I opted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Despite feeling uncomfortable, I stayed for the whole visit and then went back home.

Even though I recognized the reality of the situation, I still was not able to get rid of the unpleasant feeling caused by the confrontation. Hence, I contacted the lady. Nothing more than a chat was all that I needed to calm my doubts. The moment of our dialogue had passed, and I was very surprised and at the same time trembling.

The woman claimed that Henry and she had four years together, which was to say their romance had begun a year after ours. “I live close enough to the town, so I get to see him more often than you do.” Just when I thought I had heard it all, she said, “I’m two months pregnant with his baby. We’re expecting.”

My heart sank. I was unable to understand how a man I had been supporting, trusting, and imagining a future with could be so involved in a totally different life. How is it possible for a person to look you straight in the eye and deceive you so expertly? The same man who cannot control his own money matters is doing this to me.

I have been helping him financially with half of his debts, thinking we were building the foundation for marriage. Loans have been taken out in my name to provide him with money for his project. Whenever I asked for my money back, he always had a reason and a story. However, because I was convinced in his dreams and our future, I never bullied him too much.

Without my knowledge, I was putting my money into a relationship with a guy who was already very much involved emotionally with another woman.

The conversation between me and the woman ended up being a peaceful one. To my surprise, she also thought that she was the only one in his life. She brought up that they had even talked about marriage. So, he was thinking of marrying us both in his imaginary world.

We have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to confront him together since both of us deserve to know the truth. Nevertheless, apart from the emotional disloyalty, my major worry at the moment is my finances. When it comes to money, I want my money back. I literally worked for every single cent that I gave him. I even borrowed money because I believed I was investing in our future together.

I thought of reporting him to the police, but the whole thing would take a long time and be very taxing; besides, I really do not have the emotional strength for a legal fight that could go on for months. What I want is something instant, something that will surprise him a little. Something that will make him understand that he got the wrong woman.

I need suggestions. I want to know what the revenge options are. The situation is unbelievable to me - a person can be so heartless, planning a future with two women at the same time, fooling the two of us, and still taking my money.
