Caught in a Non-Love Union
A pregnant woman gets married only to face neglect, solitude, and a struggle with an irresponsible spouse.
Honestly, the most important reason I tied the knot was my pregnancy. Good career and reasonable salary were my earning at that time. Perhaps that’s the reason I turned a blind eye to the basically wrong character of my husband. At our first stage, he was caring and affectionate but all at once he changed after I got pregnant and with our marriage. It’s hard to imagine how much of his actual character living with him has uncovered.
His behavior after the birth of the baby was even worse. He was completely absent in all the three! I was finally taking care of everything by myself, just like a single mom.

He would often just vanish from our home and spend a lot of time with his sister, sometimes he would be absent for a whole day. He was completely indifferent to our situation and if we were in need of his presence. I used to ask myself on those days, “Wouldn’t it be better to raise my child alone?”
Daughter of ours is two years and over that I’ve been married for two years. Truly, I don’t remember even one night during these two years that I went to bed happy. I will smile and act as though I have a good marriage in front of others but in reality, I have never been really satisfied.
We have never been on the same page; we are always fighting. When I ask him why he is working yet he isn’t supporting us, he gets angry and picks a fight. He acts as though his money is only his and I have no right to expect him to take up the responsibility. He has never given anything to me or our child.
I don’t know how to cope with a husband-less marriage thus the man shows no interest in being a husband. I am so worn out, and my nerves are frayed. I thought of separating, but I am still not sure if that’s what I should do. How can I make him take up the responsibility?
